EMS tailors presentation training workshops to meet the specific needs of each client. Organizations can choose from this list of modules, or work with us to design their own content.
- The Fundamentals of Public Speaking: Tips on overcoming distracting habits and presenting a confident, professional image.
- Communicating with Confidence: Eliminating words and phrases that tend to diminish the projection of confidence, and how to use stronger language that communicates strength without coming across as “pushy”.
- Probing for Information: The proper use of listening skills and open-ended questions, helping the salesperson gather valuable information about clients and prospects.
- Creating a Listener-focused Presentation: Learn how to present information that is specifically focused on the goals and needs of your client or prospect, and how to use the proper language that reinforces this customer-focus.
- Effective Creation and Use of Visual Aids: Creating PowerPoint visuals that enhance, rather than detract from a presentation. Also, how to effectively use visual media (computer, overhead projector, flip charts) to maximize impact and increase an audience’s ability to retain information.
- Questions & Answers—Planning, Preparation and Execution: Discussion includes tips for handling Q&A with large or small groups, and overcoming difficult or unexpected situations when they occur.
- The Big 5: A discussion of the most commonly asked questions about a particular company. The goal is to insure that all participants are giving consistent answers, and that the corporate message is coming across every time. EMS Communications will work with management prior to this session to select the questions, and to come up with a series of standard responses.
- Delivering Team Presentations: Practicing for and delivering information as part of a team, maintaining a consistent image and energy level, handling transitions and Q&A.
- Delivering a Written Speech / Speaking from a Lectern: Tips on formatting a written speech for maximum effectiveness, and how to make your delivery sound comfortable and natural.
- Increasing the Effectiveness of Meetings: Discussion includes tips for planning, facilitation, and follow-up.
- Considerations for Multi-cultural Communications: Discussion about the various cultural differences in communication style, potential pitfalls, and how to avoid them.
- Media Interviews—Delivering the Proper Message and Image: Learn how to prepare for TV, radio or print interviews. Tips on how to maximize your time and get your key points across.
- Enhancing Telephone Skills: The similarities and differences between phone and face-to-face communications. Discussion includes delivery style, cold-calling, teleconferences, and voice mail.
- Maximizing the Tradeshow Experience: How to use your time efficiently and work a tradeshow floor effectively. Also—“The Art of the 2-minute Presentation”.
- Creating Energy and Excitement (when you just don’t FEEL it): Tips and tricks for enhancing your own energy level, and ways to create the PERCEPTION that you are excited. Also, tips for getting a customer more involved in the communication.
